Manchurian Candidate finally opened in theatres and I was one of the first in line. From the looks of it, lots of people are very interested in this whole conspiracy theory thing. This new version of the Manchurian Candidate is modernized -- and deals with wars and countries and companies that we're all familiar with. It's an excellent film.

All I have to say is "perfect timing" on this movie. Let me know what you guys think after you see it.

It's finally happened. They've started officially implanting microchips into humans for identification purposes. We all saw this coming -- the idea is not new.

The reporting already indicates they are trying to integrate GPS locator technology into the rice-grain-sized microchip transmitter. They say it would be a good tool to find victims of kidnapping, good to store medical information and ID for patients w/ Alzheimer's. It won't be long before they find some reason to make it essential. Perhaps they will require it for bank transactions, to buy groceries? Who knows, but this is the first time it's been officially and publicly reported. This WILL happen in our lifetime, i am sure.

He sits on the pharmaceutical giant Pfizer's board and Black & Decker where he is friends with Norman Augustine - who sits on that board as well as the Procter & Gamble board with Lynn M. Martin who's also on the Constellation Energy Board. From Alzheimer's to electricity.

But then there's even a more direct connection to our memory between electricity and alzheimer's. Manchurian Global actually has contracts to deal with both of these things. Check out these releases.

Backgrounder ... For my new readers

Okay, so if you've been reading for a while you may notice that I lost most of my archives during a meltdown at my personal web server. Now I am using the free blogger hosting and, well, I hope I don't lose my data again. But trust me, these days I back up ALL my files. And they are stored in a very SAFE place that only I can get to. But anyway, I just wanted to post a bit about why I am so concerned and why I want people to pay attention.

Corporations control this country, and increasingly, the rest of the world. Whether through provoking war in Iraq (and elsewhere) with trillions up for grabs to the no-bidders -- or by constant deregulation -- or by manipulating Americans with propaganda in all mass media (which is owned by an elite class of less than fifteen people) -- we've got a lot to be concerned with.

Who can really say what's happening if it's impossible for us to be there and more and more of what used to be "public" becomes "confidential". Like Cheney's energy meetings, or some of Clinton's nefarious associations. This power -- this influence over people and policy and the media -- crosses party lines and religious lines. In this country, not so much the color lines, but all are susceptible.

Here's a refresher: Check out this link to Viacom. Did you know they owned all of those channels? Think of what influence the people in charge at Viacom have over America. And some of the channels are even targeted: BET for African Americans; CMT for the rednecks; Nickelodian for the kids; MTV for ... well, the MTV generation. Viacom and Clear Channel which owns almost all of the AM/FM spectrum in the United States, have a virtual duopoly on all the billboards that distract your drivetime.

That's just one of the elite media companies. I need not even mention AOL/Time Warner. Their control and influence is ridiculous.

And that's just the media. Then you have to look at all the energy companies and defense contractors. I will post more background on those guys later. And then we have to consider the pharmaceutical industry and their inherent power and influence in the world. They essentially control whether people live or die. And these are just the publicly known organizations with influence. You have to believe that those elite few in charge are also a part of 'secret' organizations that exert their influence in invisible yet highly effective ways.

Regardless, keep your eye on the global corporations. They are up to much much more than putting products on the shelves for you to buy.

"Group Think"

Today's buzz word was "group think" -- a proposed explanation for the flawed intelligence used to justify the war in Iraq. That's one of the nuggets from today's Senate Intelligence Report. The language was bi-partisan and still provided a stern rebuke of the intelligence. It was by no means a "slam dunk" like CIA Director George Tenet reportedly told Bush when prompted.

Tenet seems to be a pretty nice fellow -- after all he served at the pleasure of two presidents, both Clinton and Bush II. But the "group think" psychology that lead to the dog and pony show presented to the nation and world as justification for the Iraq invading is a unique explanation. I'd prefer to think the "group think" theory better applies to how the American people were virtually lulled into silence as the first bombs were dropped over Iraq.

Surely you remember when President Bush said: "Facing clear evidence of peril, we cannot wait for the final proof -- the smoking gun that could come in the form of a mushroom cloud."

I am very interested how Bush came up with that one. But it certainly caught America's attention. Fear. That's another way they conspire to power. The part of the Senate Intelligence report that examines the administration's use of the intelligence in it's push to war is not due until after the election. Go figure.

John Kerry, by the way, also voted to go to war in Iraq. Maybe it was the skul&bonz connection. (yes, i know that's not how you spell it, but i don't want "them" to find this entry on Google.

Give Heinz a Squeeze

Kerry is married to Teresa Heinz. You may recognize her last name from your dining room table – she’s heiress to the Heinz catsup dynasty. She profits anytime you dab your “freedom fries” into that processed plop of red paste.

Whereas this connection to big business may not seem as significant as Cheney’s connection to Haliburton, I suggest we keep a close eye on it anyway. For example, Aylwin B. Lewis sits on the board of Haliburton and Walt Disney where I am certain he talks with Robert W. Matchullat who also sits on Clorox’s board with William R. Johnson who sits on H.J. Heinz’s board as well. Trust me, anything is possible.

And John Edwards is supposed to be tough on big business because of his history as a trial lawyer? I don’t believe it for a second. Just how many cases did he “settle out of court?” I wonder.

Bush Compromises Iraq Security to Ease Casualties Before Election

Bush is using the political turnover as a reason for the increased violence in Iraq, but I think there's more to it. I think there's more violence because the U.S. troops have pulled back from their much-needed aggressive stance in the country as to minimize their casualties. Although all the danger (if not more) still plagues Iraq and necessitates an active defense, Bush has chosen to unofficially pull back our troops. He doesn't want all the dead soldiers coming home to affect his chance for re-election.

Big Business Could Lose Big

It's not just a coincidence that Ken Lay, chair of the defunct & criminal Enron Corp., is about to go to trial and receive his public flogging. Despite the fact that Bush and Cheney are the most business friendly administration ever, because Lay will soon go on trial, Bush can say he's tough on those unscrupulous CEO's. Whatever, Bush and Lay are on the same team -- and I wouldn't be surprised if Bush pardoned Lay before he's no longer the president.

Cough Syrup

We know drug companies are greedy -- and today's study about how children's' cough medicine is a bogus proposition (and billion dollar industry) only proves that point. And the ingredients, although ineffective at soothing the symptoms of coughs and colds, DO cause hyperactivity, insomnia and a slew of other "ailments" that --- you guessed it: you can also buy medicine for.

Give me a break

Sometimes I wonder if it does any good to bring these things up here. Is the government reading this? Will the CIA or FBI or Homeland Security search my harddrive, arrest me and take me to Guantanamo? And if they do, will anyone even know? It may not happen tomorrow, but I do think if things keep in the same direction, we may all have to ask ourselves the same question.
